Interview with Andrea Mazo : Frank Scott: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?. Andrea Mazo : When i was at the Design School i tried to avoid eat there because i did not disconnect and did not like the experience. So i thought about the people who had to do it daily at work and how the lunchbox do not help them to benefit the lunch break for having time themselves. .Frank Scott: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?. Andrea Mazo : Enhancing the dining experience also benefit people´s health. .Frank Scott: What are your future plans for this award winning design?. Andrea Mazo : I would like to sell it in the market .Frank Scott: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?. Andrea Mazo : I worked in this design about 7 months. .Frank Scott: Who is the target customer for his design?. Andrea Mazo : People who think that their quality of life can improve with little daily details. .Frank Scott: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?. Andrea Mazo : Worknic has the function of a normal lunchbox, but with characteristics that make the difference. The philosophy, the materials and the usability are some of them. .Frank Scott: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?. Andrea Mazo : Worknic is a concept that joins two words implicitly in the philosophy of the product: "work" and "picnic" .Frank Scott: What is the most unique aspect of your design?. Andrea Mazo : It is a design that transmits the warmth of being at home when you aren´t. I think that this fact is very important. .Frank Scott: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?. Andrea Mazo : I had the help of Fátima Ferreiro, an experienced designer. .Frank Scott: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?. Andrea Mazo : The biggest obstacle I encountered during the project was finding the balance between the philosophy, all the utilities I wanted to incorporate in the design and the physical characteristics of the object. .Frank Scott: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?. Andrea Mazo : i am looking for job and i thought that it would be a good opportunity and experience for me. .Frank Scott: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?. Andrea Mazo : i have learnt that a design never is finished. Someone can change it radically with his point of view. .
